The IPUR team with health experts during the workshop on 4 July.
As part of our work on Project Wavelength, IPUR is organising a series of workshops with experts to discuss issues relating to pertinent risk topics. On 4 July, IPUR held one such interactive workshop on “health risk perception gaps” featuring a facilitated discussion with participants working in a range of professional roles within the health sector including physicians, nurses, and academics. In the hour-long workshop, they discussed the big question on what some of the top neglected health risks in Singapore are and how resources could be directed to help the public understand health risks better.
The workshop aimed to:
To understand how healthcare professionals in Singapore perceive a range of health risks
To identify which risks they believe should be given more attention
To ascertain how they perceive the general public’s attitudes towards health risks
