Using AI to assess and manage environmental risk
This report is primarily targeted at environmental regulators, policymakers, researchers, and other stakeholders at the forefront of understanding and addressing the complexities of modern environmental challenges, particularly in the context of the data revolution and the integration of AI technologies.
Developed together with IPUR Visiting Fellow Marla Orenstein, it is designed to provide these professionals with insights into leveraging AI to enhance decision-making processes, improve risk considerations, and foster transparent and accountable regulatory practices. Additionally, the report could serve as a valuable resource for educators and communicators dedicated to promoting informed public discourse on environmental and technological issues. We hope this report contributes to the growing conversation on how AI can be responsibly harnessed for environmental risk communication and regulation, and we look forward to continuing to explore the critical intersections between technology, health, and the environment.
