Workshop to inspire youth to take action against climate change

Event On: 04 June 2021

We are all now living in a world of environmental degradation and climate change, with many people fearing that the next generation will be the last to make a positive difference on the environment.

In conjunction with World Environment Day, IPUR is organising a “Youth in Action: Taking on Climate Change” virtual workshop on 4 June, 2021, to empower and mobilise young people to take impactful action. Through this workshop held from 10am-1130am, young people will find out what it means to be a climate action champion, what existing efforts are already in this green space, and how they can use their skills and knowledge to get involved.

The highlight of the workshop is a panel discussion featuring:

1. Lathika Chandra Mouli, Sustainability Solutions Analyst at ENGIE Impact.
2. Ajay Nair, Undergraduate at NUS
3. Melissa Low, Research Fellow, Energy Studies Institute, NUS
4. Prof Benjamin Cashore, Professor in Public Management, Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy

The speakers will share their journey, motivations and views that led them to mobilise on climate action; and the critical importance of driving the climate movement before time runs out.
