IPUR Seed Grant

IPUR is launching its 2025 seed grant call for proposals on 17 July 2025 and invites proposals for research projects around the evaluation of risk communication.

IPUR’s current research effort spans across three main areas: Data and Technology, Environment and Climate and Health and Lifestyle. Proposals are invited in the three research areas articulated above, including (but not limited to) the following themes:

  1. Health: Mental health, infectious diseases, chronic diseases, clinical trials
  2. Climate: Climate mitigation, climate adaptation, coastal risk, extreme weather, pollution
  3. Technology: Emerging technologies, onshore and offshore infrastructure
  4. Cross-cutting risks: Health and extreme weather, AI and health, AI and environment, climate and health
The evaluation criteria are as follows:
  1. Contribution to development of evaluation methods for risk communication interventions
  2. Application to novel or creative risk communication interventions
  3. Application to one or more Asian countries
  4. Alignment with IPUR objectives and focus risk domains

Proposals meeting the following criteria will be given priority:

  • Significant impact on safety of vulnerable groups
  • Strong and clear strategies for the communication of results

A timeline of key dates are as follows:

  • Call for proposal: 17 July 2025 (Thursday)
  • Submission to Department: 8 August 2025 (Friday)
  • Proposal submission by Faculty/School to reach IPUR: 15 August 2025 (Friday), 4.00 pm
  • Commencement of Project: October 2025

*Please note that the main applicant is required to be a full-time NUS faculty member*
