Just two weeks out of the Risk Quotient (RQ) 2024! IPUR is excited to welcome Prof Kathryn Bowen as the keynote speaker for the conference on 29 February. Titled “The role of risk in informing climate change action – a help or a hindrance?” her address will reflect on the increasingly distant ways we consider human existence within the natural system, and how this might affect our willingness to respond to the increasingly dire climate situation we face. With a view on the conference theme on intersecting risks, she will speak to how the conceptualisation of risk is applicable not only to climate risk but on health and societal risks as well.
RQ24 features the theme: Intersecting risks: Perils, Perceptions and Possibilities. Organised with the Melbourne Centre for Behaviour Change, the conference will focus on four main streams:
- Disaster Management and Resilience
- Health Risk Perceptions and Disease Mitigation
- Influence of Emotions, Mindsets and Behaviours on Decision Making
- Climate Change Adaptation
The conference programme can be found here.
Prior to the conference is the Behaviour Change: Achieving Impact Using Behavioural Science organised by the Melbourne Centre for Behaviour Change. The conference will run from 26-28 February 2024, and will showcase keynote talks, masterclasses, and workshops delivered by national and international experts. The conference agenda will give attendees the latest insights from the behaviour change field and actionable approaches to guide effective behaviour change interventions.
Registration packages are still open for both conferences here.
